North Tonawanda is sponsoring a citywide Christmas lighting contest open to residents who decorate their homes or businesses.
A panel of local residents will judge entries between 6 and 9 p.m. Dec. 11. Cash prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded to the winners.
Entry forms are available at the mayor's office in City Hall and the city recreation office at the Col. Payne Community Center, 460 Wheatfield St. Entry deadline is next Monday.
Contestants may enter one of five categories: most original, overall holiday, decorated door, decorated window and decorated business.
A sixth category -- the Special Mayor's Award -- will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
Contestants who won last year are asked to enter a different category this year.
An awards ceremony will be held at the Dec. 18 Common Council meeting.
