Union employees at the Mecca Kendall Corp., a construction equipment sales and service company in Orchard Park, charge they have been locked out of their jobs because of failing to agree to a new labor contract asking job concessions.
The 13 employees, members of Local 17C of the Operating Engineers, have been picketing company offices since mid-November when they said they were locked out by management.
The employees said they have been without a contract since their last one expired Sept. 30.
The union claims that management has asked the workers to take a $2.10 wage cut from wages which range from $8 to $15.51 hourly.
Neither Mecca Kendall management or its attorney, Joseph Braccio, would comment on the statements by union members.
