The Marrano/Marc Equity Corporation has introduced a new interior/exterior design for the 1990 selling season in the Lock Lea community off Roll Road in Clarence.
"Planned to attract the attention of upscale home buyers, this 3,200 square foot floor plan emphasizes the 'hot' Southwestern flare with lots of square lines -- like an adobe hut," began Jeff Jones, sales representative for the builder.
But this home is as far from a hut as can be. The strong vertical and horizontal lines are softened by rounded windows, a pillared front entry and many angled roof gables.
Inside, the basic center-entrance floor plan takes on contemporary Southwestern colors of sand, light greens and rose with an occasional darker accent tone.
The bright foyer shows a massive entry door with transom window above and vertical side-lights of glass. The ceramic tile flooring is a must in upscale homes of the '90s but also fits the decor. The wainscoting stresses sand with a "course painting" application on the moulding.
The step-down living room is to the left of the foyer. The vertical dimension enhances the elegance of the room. It flows easily into the formal dining area.
To the right of the foyer entry is the home office or den. Double french doors provide privacy when needed. Bookshelves and recessed lighting are positioned to place the desk in a prominent location.
The central hallway leads to the rear of the home "where the expanded kitchen and family room demonstrate the family-style design of this model home," Jones added.
An impressive center island is the "command center" for the family chef. A cook top range is positioned here. Bleached oak cabinets surround the work area which is enhanced by built-in appliances and plenty of counter space.
The adjoining eating area includes double-french doors with transoms above. This space overlooks the step-down family room.
A dramatic round-top window with side-lights frames the fireplace for a unique glass and brick presentation. "RMR Interiors designed and decorated the interior of this model," added Jones.
Upstairs the four-bedroom design includes an elegant master bedroom suite with sitting area. Mirrored his-and-her closets connect the master bedroom with the master bath.
Ceramic tile in the master bath continues that clean but not stark Southwestern decor. Double sink vanity with mirrors above, a separate shower and whirlpool tub are among the glamorous appointments of the owners' private bathroom.
"We have a wide variety of designs and home sites for the upscale buyer in Clarence. Loch Lea lots measure 100' by 200'; many are heavily wooded or on cul-de-sacs or lakeside, Jones said. The base price for a home in Loch Lea is $185,000.
Marrano is offering special financing through American Home Funding.
A few home sites also remain in Rolling Meadows also off Roll Road and in Eastbrooke Estates off Grenier. Nearby Amherst sites can also be reviewed at the Clarence sales center at 5575 Via Marina.
