A search of the home of rock 'n' roll great Chuck Berry, 63, turned up drugs and guns, authorities told reporters and Berry, who made a surprise visit to a news conference Thursday.

Berry sat quietly as officials recited a laundry list of items, including his driver's license, removed from his estate in Wentzville, about 40 miles west of St. Louis.

The estate was raided while Berry was away. St. Charles County drug agents found and seized several plastic bags of marijuana, an unspecified quantity of hashish, two rifles and a shotgun, $122,000 and pornographic videotapes, slides and books, said county Prosecuting Attorney William Hannah.
