TWO CONVICTED IN ARMORED CAR THEFT

A federal court jury convicted two men Thursday of robbing $2.9 million from an armored car company after driving a one-ton truck through its garage doors.

Gary LaTray, 31, was found guilty of armed robbery of bank funds and conspiracy in the May 1989 burglary of the Armored Motor Service of America office in DeWitt.

Timothy DeMarc was acquitted of armed robbery but found guilty of conspiracy and robbery, a less serious crime.

AMSA is the same company from which robbers stole $10.8 million in an armored car holdup Tuesday near Rochester.
