City and county officials have reached an agreement with a partnership of 10 Rochester businesses to resume construction on the unfinished Hyatt hotel skeleton that has loomed over the city skyline since 1987. The hotel was started by Buffalo developer Paul Snyder, who later quit the project leaving the city as owner of the unfinished building.

The new business partnership will contribute $10 million to finish construction of the 350-room hotel. Construction will resume by fall and could be finished in 18 months.

The companies in the partnership are Wilmorite Inc., Eastman Kodak Co., Xerox Corp., Bausch & Lomb Inc., Chase Lincoln First Bank, Gleason Memorial Fund Inc., Rochester Telephone Corp., Wegmans Food Markets Inc., Central Trust Co. and Rochester Gas and Electric Corp.
