PETER P. LYSTER, FARMER, CHURCH ACTIVIST

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Medina, for Peter P. Lyster, 84, a Town of Ridgeway farmer who was active in the church.

Prayers will be said at 12:30 in the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center St., Medina. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Medina.

Lyster died Wednesday (June 27, 1990) in Medina Memorial Hospital.

A Town of Ridgeway native, Lyster operated a farm off Marshall Road that had been in his family for generations.

He was a member of the church and also active in the Medina Council 651, Knights of Columbus, and was a fourth-degree member of the St. Joan of Arc of Orleans Assembly. Lyster also belonged to the New York State Farm Bureau and the Medina Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, the former Frances Williams of Medina; three sons, William of Medina, James of Atlanta, and Peter P. Jr. of Lockport; a daughter, Mary O'Sullivan of Pittsburgh; a brother Bernard J. of Medina; 11 grandchildren, and four-great grandchildren.
