I've sat back for a while and listened to all these people complain about a beautiful monument to all veterans, alive and dead. There is nothing wrong with this monument, nor has there ever been.
A small group of people worked hard and long, month after month, trying to raise money for this worthy project. Now all I'm hearing are slanderous remarks about the committee and the memorial. Is this the thanks we get for doing a fantastic job?
This memorial isn't the only one with the committee's names on it. You have the Korean with 48, the Vietnam monument, one in Lancaster, and even a Civil War monument in a town near us. So what's the big problem?
This is a memorial to remember the dead and the living, as well as hope for peace now and in the years to come.
