The annual student census for the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District has begun and parents are being asked to cooperate with enumerators who are canvassing the district. All enumerators will carry credentials and badges.
The census should include all children from birth to age 18, and up to age 21 for handicapped youth.
The census is mandated by the State Education Law, and helps determine enrollment patterns, and facilitate district planning.
It will also help identify handicapped students and assist in the location of preschool programs.
If enumerators are unable to contact residents after two visits, they will leave a postcard that can be filled out and mailed to the school district.
