CLEVELAND HILL FIRE DIST. GETS HEAVY-RESCUE TRUCK

A $300,000 heavy-rescue truck equipped to handle disasters and to serve as a command center has been delivered to the Cleveland Hill Fire District station at 440 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga.

The truck contains oxygen equipment and other trauma supplies, tools to open up smashed vehicles to free victims, a 15,000-watt generator to provide lighting for emergencies at night, a cellular telephone and a facsimile machine to receive information on hazardous materials.

Fire Chief Matthew D. Kaszynski said the truck will be sent to all emergencies and working fires in the fire district, and to working fires in other districts which Cleveland Hill responds to through
mutual aid.

The vehicle is being financed through a district bond issue.
