BFI OVERCOMES 7-RUN DEFICIT

Pinch hitter Dave Dlugosz's two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh capped a three-run rally as first-place BFI (6-1) rallied for an 8-7 victory over Town Enterprise in an All American Amateur Baseball Association game Thursday evening at Delaware Park.

BFI, which overcame a 7-0 deficit after five innings, got two hits each from Brian Hennessy, Mike Bieniek and Bill Evans. Rudy Torres and Andy Hyland had two hits each for Town Enterprise (5-2).

Also at Delaware, the Leib's scored six runs in the fifth to post a 14-6 triumph over the Pignataro's. Jim Hodgson (three RBIs), John Elais (three RBIs) and Dale Podlas hit homers for Leib's (3-4). Don Saj homered for Pignataro's.

At Cazenovia, Chuck Alf fired a five-hitter as Jack Adkins (5-2) posted a 5-1 win over Al Maroones. Rocky Gocella had three hits, Kevin Lewis two hits and three stolen bases and Sean Hennessy an RBI triple for Adkins. . . . Paul Feltman tossed a four-hitter with three strikeouts as Royal Printing edged Jurek Post, 4-2.

CEBA: Gowanda (6-1-1) and Lancaster played to a 3-3 tie in a game called due to darkness. Jon Phillips struck out 10 of the 12 batters he faced and his brother, Jim, had four hits for Gowanda. . . . Sardinia (6-1-1) and the Falcons played to a 5-5 tie called after seven innings by darkness. Sardinia's Dan Roblee had two hits and combined with Chad Andrews to pitch a seven-hitter. John Andreff tossed a six-hitter for the Falcons.
