A 10 member advisory committee will oversee construction of a $5.2 million addition to the Cattaraugus County Jail.

Legislators approved the project earlier this month and agreed a committee -- similar to the panel which oversaw construction of a $10 million new office building in Olean last year -- was needed.

Legislature Chairman Bruce J. Moody said Patrick McCrea, R-Franklinville, will be chairman. Other legislators named are Democrats James Andre and Nicholas Augostini of Allegany; Gerard Fitzpatrick, R-Ellicottville, and Moody.

Also, County Administrator Donald E. Furman, Deputy Administrators George Peters and William C. Baker, Public Works Commissioner Rickey M. Johnson and Sheriff Jerry E. Burrell.

Bids are expected to be let in early 1991 with a construction start in the spring. The committee will be in existence until Sept. 1, 1992.
