POLICE SEEKING TO IDENTIFY SECOND BODY FOUND IN RIVER

Niagara park police here are attempting to identify one of two bodies recovered Wednesday within 15 minutes of each other.

Police identified one of the bodies as that of a 41-year-old St. Catharines man but declined to release his name at the request of the family. Police said the man, about 6 feet tall with a mustache, went over the Horseshoe Falls more than a week ago. His body was discovered near the Maid of the Mist dock.

The body of a white male, 40 or older and 5 feet, 7 inches tall, washed ashore near the whirlpool at 10:50 a.m. Police said the body had been in the river for a considerable time.
