KANDEFERS RIP CARDINALS; LEIB'S RALLY FOR 11-9 WIN

The West Seneca Kandefers of The Buffalo News Suburban Baseball Association's Lake Shore League overpowered the Muny AAA League Cardinals, 11-3, Wednesday evening at Schiller Park.

Keith Otis was 3 for 3 with three RBIs, Jeff Van Remmen 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Ron Rybak 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Kandefers (8-1) whose player-manager, Mike Keating, pitched a six-hitter for his third win. Dave Catanzaro hurled one inning of hitless relief.

Leib's (3-7-1) rallied from a 7-0 deficit to edge Orchard Park, 11-9, as winning pitcher Ron Rybak had two hits and three RBIs. Steve Cook and Sean Evans had two hits each for Leib's and John Ryan hit a two-run homer for OP (4-5).

Bruce Marshall and Joe DiMartino combined to pitch a four-hitter, while Paul Hollins, Mike Doctor and Tom Leibler each had two hits for Ed Taylor (11-4) in an 8-1 win over the Callahans. . . . Jim Klubek hurled a four-hitter, Scott Karoleski had two hits and the game-winning RBI for BFI (4-3) in a 2-1 win over the Travelers. . . . The Voyageurs trampled the Cheektowaga Black Sox, 15-1, as Paul Schaeffer (3-0) pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts. Rick Ruggerio and Lou Monte each had three hits and Dave Gale a two-run homer for the V's (14-1). . . . Jeff Crosta's seventh-inning triple, his fourth hit of the game, gave West Herr a 5-5 tie with Fatmans.

ERIE-NIAGARA: Mike Kramer (4-2) fired a three-hitter and struck out six, and his twin brother, Kevin, singled in Mike Bieniek with the only run as the Tonawanda Eldredges edged Clarence, 1-0. Jeff Inman had two hits for the Eldredges (6-4-1). Clarence is 4-8. . . . John Loiars pitched a three-hitter and struck out seven, and Jim Voutour hit his sixth homer to pace Lockport DMI over Alden, 6-0. . . . Sean Turri pitched four innings of one-hit relief and had two hits and two RBIs to lead Lancaster (4-7) to a 4-2 win over Lockport Bus (7-5).

INTERNATIONAL AA: Nice Construction routed the Madhatters, 12-1, as Tony Amoia had five RBIs and Jim Balzan hit a three-run homer to back the four-hit pitching of Tim Kazukiewicz. . . . Tony DeMartino hurled a five-hitter, Mike White had three hits (four RBIs) and John Wilson a triple and single as Evans (3-4) defeated the Culligan Cubs, 12-2. . . . The Liberatore Saints (5-4) beat Club KC, 7-2, as Lou Adamo fired a five-hitter and fanned seven. Joe Tomizzi, John Chiarenza and Paul Christopher combined for six hits and six RBIs. . . . Craig Leone's three hits paced a 16-hit attack as Troup Electric routed Lancaster-Depew, 10-6. . . . Jim Badgley pitched a three-hitter, striking out 10, and Chris Kaiser had three hits to lead the Dobmeier Pirates to a 7-1 win over the Recovery Room. . . . Bob Ziolkowski fanned eight and Tom Fries pitched one hitless inning of relief to lead Amvets Post 45 to a 7-6 win at Thorold, Ont.

AMERICAN LEGION: Bob Godwin had three hits (two RBIs), Dan Blamowski a homer and single (three RBIs) and Scott Schreiner two doubles for South Buffalo in a 12-7 win over LaSalle. . . . Pat Broadwater's two-hit, 11-strikeout pitching led Orchard Park (7-2) to a 7-0 rout of Lockport. . . . Brian Hennessy allowed four hits in five innings in relief of injured starter Phil Coyle as Hamburg edged Jurek, 4-3. Hennessy also doubled and scored the winning run on Mike Hirsch's single in the seventh. . . . Dave Sanchez and Andy Schammro combined for a two-hitter and Rob Ryan hit a two-run single as Kensington defeated Depew, 4-1.

CEBA: Chris Paschke had four hits and seven RBIs, and Scott Kurtzworth pitched a two-hitter for Springville in a 17-5 rout of Holland.
