A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn M. Ward, once active in the Buffalo Canoe Club, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Delaware Avenue at West Utica Street.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 in the John E. Roberts Funeral Home West Chapel, 1357 Hertel Ave. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mrs. Ward, 88, who was born in Buffalo, died Tuesday (June 26, 1990) in Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, Ont., after an illness of several months. She maintained a summer home in Fort Erie.
She had worked in the law office of her husband, Arthur A. Ward, now deceased, who was prominent in Republican politics in the Delaware District.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas M. of Kenmore and Arthur J.; two brothers, Edwin and James Myers, both of of Venice, Fla.; three sisters, Lillian VanDeWater of Amherst, Delores Kaltenbach of Lake Placid and Grace Sullivan of Florida, and three grandchildren.
