When the heads of the seven major industrial nations meet in Houston next month for their annual economic summit, a University at Buffalo professor will participate in The Other Economic Summit (TOES) to explore "crucial economic, social and environmental issues not addressed by the heads of state," according to the university.

Lester Milbrath, director of UB's research program in environment and society, noted that since 1984, a TOES summit has been held each year as a counterpoint to the summit held by leaders of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Japan. This year's meeting will be held July 6 through July 8 in Houston.
