TWO SHARE LEAD IN JR. MASTERS AFTER 3-OVER 74S

A pair of 17-year-olds, Enrique Dominguez of Lomas, Mexico, and Jonathan Doctor of Skaneateles, shot 3-over-par 74s Tuesday to tie for the lead after the first 18 holes of medal play in the 38th annual International Junior Masters Tournament at the East Aurora Country Club.

The event, for boys 14-17, was to continue this morning with 18 more holes of medal play. The field of 80 was to be cut to 32 for the beginning of match play this afternoon.

The winner receives an invitation to the Porter Cup and a berth in the PGA Junior Championship.

In third place at 75 is Sixto Torres of Guadalajaro, Mexico.

Doctor is the reigning New York state high school champion.

Among the players from Western New York is Mark Muscato of Orchard Park, who is tied for fourth with John Wiler of Erie, Pa., at 76.

Kevin Devine of West Seneca and Springville CC is among four tied at 80. Hamburg's Michael Sullivan, a Brierwood member, is tied with two others at 82. Marilla's Pete Nomm (Elma Meadows) is in a four-way tie at 86.

The round of 16 and the quarterfinals will be held Thursday. Semifinals start at 9 a.m. Friday; the championship follows at 2.

Admission is free to the course, off Girdle Road.
