AQUETTES WIN BRONZE IN NATIONAL EVENT

The Town of Tonawanda Aquettes' 11-12-year-old A team captured the bronze medal at the National Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships at the Shaw Park pool.

The Buffalo Swimkins finished sixth.

Leading the way for the Aquettes were Erika Gellin, Jennifer Blumhagen and Michelle Mitchell, who finished sixth overall in the trio competition. Sarah Baker, Karen Cerveny and Sara Kaprove of the Swimkins were eighth.

Other Aquettes' point-winners were Michelle Bilkey and Vickie Lewandowski. Bilkey was 18th in solo and combined with Lewandowski to finish 13th in duet.

Sarah Baker was 13th in solo, and Cerveny and Kaprove were 10th in duet for the Swimkins.
