ROY-HART BOARD SCHEDULES AUG. 1 VOTE ON PROPOSITIONS

The Royalton-Hartland Central School Board Monday approved an $11,458,902 contingency budget for 1990-91 and set an Aug. 1 vote on separate propositions to fund bus transportation, sports, new library books, equipment.

The contingency budget is down $115,934 from the one defeated by voters, 816-750, June 5. The estimated tax rate for the contingency budget only is $21.15 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.

Voting on the propositions will be from noon to 9 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. A fifth proposition to spend $58,000 for maintaining the fuel oil tank at Gasport Elementary School, the pool filter, and brick work, will be paid from the district's surplus with no effect on the tax rate.

If the other four propositions are approved, the overall estimated tax rate would be $21.91, up $2.08 from the
current budget.

The costs of the propositions, with the estimated effect on the tax rate, are non-mandated transportation and field trips, $35,980, 20-cents; interscholastic sports and related transportation, $74,764, 42 cents; library book purchases, $6,190, 3 cents, and equipment purchases, $20,000, 11-cents.
