POLICE LINK DRUGS TO STREET SHOOTING

Police believe drugs are linked to the shooting Monday night of Omar Field, 22, of 142 Oxford Ave.

Field was shot in the right forearm and right side just after 9 p.m. Monday at Fillmore and Glenwood avenues, Genesee Station police said.

He was listed in stable condition in Erie County
Medical Center.

He told officers he was shot by a man known to him as "Red."

Police said Field was arrested on June 5 by Cold Spring Station officers who seized a half-ounce of suspected cocaine on him at his
residence.

Two hours after his arrest, police seized an Uzi submachine gun and arrested a suspect outside the Oxford house after shots were fired during a suspected drug deal.
