JOSEPH COLUCCI, TOBACCO, CANDY WHOLESALER

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph J. Colucci, former owner of Leon Colucci Inc., tobacco and candy wholesalers, was offered today in St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Eggertsville.

Prayers were said in the Harry A. Wedekindt Funeral Home, Eggertsville. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.

Colucci, 69, died Saturday (June 23, 1990) in Veterans Hospital.

A Buffalo native, he graduated from Hutchinson Technical High School and Niagara University.

He retired about seven years ago after owning Leon Colucci Inc., a family business on Grant Street. The company was in business 64 years.

He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Post 49, AMVETS. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Benedict's Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Agnes DiGacamo; a son, Joseph J.; a daughter, Loraine Hawthorn; a brother, Anthony; two sisters, Julie French of Waterloo and Christine Cappellini, and four grandchildren.
