The Village Board Monday decided to seek a new set of bids on a Fire Department tanker after bids received 45 days ago were too high.
The board set the new bid opening for 2 p.m. July 5. Some items have been deleted in the new specifications.
Bids will be received at the same time for a new roof at the Webster Road Pump Station.
In other business, the board gave permission for an outdoor art festival the next two weekends behind 23-27 East Main St. Artists will display their work on the railing bordering the sidewalk behind the stores. Some will also set up easels or potters' wheels and work at the site.
The board authorized new contracts with the Berry Road and Chestnut Road water districts in the Town of Pomfret. The rate will be twice the village rate. The Chestnut Street Water District will have a master meter installed.
The board announced that Newton Street from Main Street to a point east of Red Wing Co. Inc. and the Castile Drive extension will be paved this year. As a pilot project, a slurry seal will be used on Park and Center streets from Main to Church streets.
