A memorial service for Dr. Harrison L. Barclay Jr., 70, a dentist with offices on Cleveland Drive in Cheektowaga for 30 years, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in East Aurora Christian Church, Main and North Grove streets, East Aurora.
Burial will be in Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery.
A decorated U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Barclay died Monday (June 25, 1990) in Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Lackawanna.
Born in Buffalo, he graduated from Amherst High School and the University of Buffalo School of Dentistry. He served on Iwo Jima and Okinawa during World War II with the Navy Air Evacuation Squadron and was a pharmacist's mate first class at the time of his discharge in 1945.
He had lived in Elma since 1956 and previously lived in Cheektowaga and Snyder. He retired in 1980.
He was a member of the 8th District, Erie County, New York State and American dental societies; East Aurora Christian Church, and the Lancaster Amateur Radio Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Beatrice M. Bily of Elma; two sons, Richard H. of Aptos, Calif., and Steven A. of Felton, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara S. Kawa of Elma; a brother, Ronald of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Dorothy Gass of Detroit, and three grandchildren.
