A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles W. Nickles Jr., 52, of 84th Street, a retired welder and former Navy chief petty officer, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. John de LaSalle Catholic Church, 8469 Buffalo Ave., following prayers at 9 in the Tubinis Funeral Home, 1646 Falls St. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
Nickles, a Niagara Falls native, died Sunday (June 24, 1990) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Town of Lewiston, apparently of a heart attack.
He retired on disability after working from 1979 until 1982 at the former Olin-Mathieson Corp., now Olin Corp., where he was a foreman.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of LaSalle Post 1142, American Legion, and the Brother Ground Hoggers.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jill Sisler; a son, Charles W. III; four daughters, Carolyn Rick, Brenda, Melanie and Jennifer; a brother, Michael Sr.; two sisters, Alice Truesdale of Richmond, Va., and Jacqueline Socie, and two grandchildren.
