ANGOLA VILLAGE TRUSTEES VOICE SUPPORT FOR DEPUTY

The Angola Village Board Monday voiced its support of Sheriff's Deputy Thomas Crupe's action at a May 30 fire at the Main Street Laundromat in Angola.

Angola Fire Chief John Justinger asked the Sheriff's Department dispatcher to contact the owner of the Laundromat, but was told by the dispatcher that the Sheriff's Department had all information pertaining to businesses in the village. Crupe then drove to the owner's home to contact him.

Crupe said he was scheduled to meet today with his superiors to explain why he went to the owner's home.

Mayor Richard L. Carlson said the matter will be corrected and the fire control will have a current listing of where business owners can be reached.

In another matter, the board approved a change in parking on Commercial Street from diagonal to parallel on the business side of the street.

The updated parking plan will eliminate a hazard to Main Street drivers turning onto Commercial.
