The summer swimming season has begun at North Tonawanda's Memorial and Wurlitzer pools.
Both pools will offer recreational swimming from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m. daily, and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
Memorial Pool is in Payne Park, off Payne Avenue near Walck Road. Wurlitzer is at Deerfield and Cambridge avenues.
Pool use requires a pass, for sale at the Department of Youth and Recreation office in the Colonel Payne Community Center, 460 Wheatfield St.
Spray pools for preschoolers are operated at both locations. A variety of specialized swimming programs, including learn-to-swim classes, begin July 5 and continue for six seeks. Details are available by telephoning Memorial Pool at 695-8527 and Wurlitzer at 695-8528.
