Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies are trying to determine why a 32-year-old Buffalo woman was left lying along a Town of Pomfret road overnight Saturday, suffering from multiple cuts and abrasions.
The woman, whose identity hasn't been learned, was found by Henry Jensen of Fredonia at about 8:45 a.m. Sunday on Chautauqua Road.
She had abrasions on her arm and chest and lacerations on her back. The woman also was suffering from hypothermia; her temperature was 86 degrees.
The victim, transported by the Fredonia Fire Department to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, was admitted to the intensive-care unit. Investigators were not able to interview her Sunday, they said.
