An expanded "Hands on History" program for children will be offered by the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society during July and August.
The weekly workshops, previously for children ages 9 to 12, also will be available this summer to those ages 6 to 8, for whom special programming has been developed.
Sessions on the same topic will be offered for the older group at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and the younger at 10 a.m. Thursdays starting July 10 and continuing through Aug. 16. Among the topics will be archaeology, pioneer times, the world war eras in Buffalo and the Erie Canal.
Fees are $12 for the series or $3 per session.
