VANDALS BLAMED FOR SCHOOL FIRE

Vandals caused about $100,000 damage to the Lindbergh Elementary School in the Town of Tonawanda late Friday after apparently setting fire to a second-floor office.

Tonawanda fire officials said they received a call shortly before midnight about the blaze in the school at 188 Irving Terrace. The building is on the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda line.

Four fire companies, headed by the Ellwood Volunteer Fire Department, fought the blaze. It was declared under control at 12:57 a.m. Saturday.

No injuries were reported.
