I have watched the irresponsible dumping of trash on the Buffalo sidewalks and the streets by the residents. They put their refuse out four to five weeks before pickup, dump loose material on the street, do not bundle anything, and then blame the Streets Department for incompetence.
When the neighbors of these people complain to the Streets Department of the total lack of respect these people show for their neighborhoods and the city, and the Streets Department responds by issuing summonses for violations of the law, these same people complain of persecution.
If the residents showed more responsibility and assisted the Streets Department in its job, we would not have the problem we now have. These problems are generated by the citizens, not the Streets Department.
