Ruth G. Spitzer, 89, a longtime Niagara Falls resident, died Friday (June 22, 1990) after being stricken at her Niagara Geriatric Center residence.

A native of Ludlow, Pa., the former Ruth Bender came to Niagara Falls in 1935. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper at the former Keller Meat Market on Main Street.

She was a matron in the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Martin, died in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Matthew L., of Hayward, Calif.; a brother, Joseph Bender of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
