The nuptial vows of Darlene M. Konstanty of North Tonawanda and Gordon John LaPorte were exchanged in the chapel in Mount St. Mary Academy at 3 p.m. Saturday before Monsignor Francis G. Weldgen of St. Christopher Catholic Church.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Chester H. Konstanty of Franklinville and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon G. LaPorte of Niagara Falls. A reception was given in Knights of Columbus clubhouse, Niagara Falls. After a Caribbean cruise, the newly married couple will be at home in North Tonawanda.
A special education teacher in Lewiston-Porter North Elementary School, the bride is a graduate of Buffalo State College, where she earned a master's degree. The bridegroom, a graduate of Trott Vocational High School, is a mechanic at Sweeney Chevrolet-GEO Inc.
