GOLDEN YEARS

50 years
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony J. Carnevale of Amherst recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Buffalo. They were also honored at a reception in the Tonawandas' Sportsmen's Club.

Carnevale and the former Josephine Albernasi were married June 22, 1940, in Ripley. They owned a grocery store at East North and Ellicott streets until the early 1960s when they opened "Jo's Bakery" as well as a popular clam stand at Niagara Falls Boulevard and Eggert Road. They later moved the bakery to Millersport Highway, retiring in 1979.

The couple has two children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
