When: Aug. 23.

Where: The New York State Fair in Syracuse.

Who: Any state resident.

What: Two categories: Junior and Senior High School Youth or Adult. Food professionals are not eligible.

How: Mail a recipe for a main dish that contains at least one egg per serving to Egg Cooking Contest, RR#01, P.O. Box 520, Liberty, N.Y. 12754.

Cutoff date: July 16.

Those who submit the three best recipes in each group will go to Syracuse to prepare their recipes. The winning recipes will be submitted to the national contest, with the possibility of winning $4,000.

Sponsors: American Egg Board, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County, State Department of Agriculture & Markets, State Poultry Industry Coordinated Effort and Poultry Allied Industry Representatives.
