Funeral services for Samuel A. Wiand, 86, of South Street, a retired industrial engineer at Harrison Radiator Division, General Motors Corp., will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
Wiand died Thursday (June 21, 1990) in Lockport Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He worked at Harrison for 33 years before his retirement in 1966. He then moved to Arizona for several years, but returned to Lockport.
An organizer of Boy Scout Cub Pack 50, he was active with the Boy Scouts for 60 years. A past master of Red Jacket Lodge 646, F&AM, he also was a member of Oriental Lodge, F&AM, in Mesa, Ariz.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Blanche Wilber Wiand; a daughter, Joann L. Cornelius; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
