Services were held Friday for Gordon J. Davenport, 84, who died Tuesday (June 19, 1990) in his Town of Tonawanda home after a short illness. Burial was in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Davenport, a retired real estate broker, was born in Buffalo and attended Lafayette High School.
Davenport was a manager of a Liberty Bank branch (now Norstar) and managed the former A & P store on Hertel Avenue. He operated his own real estate office at Hertel and Starin avenues during the 1940s and 1950s. After high school, he worked for the Buffalo Forestry Department.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Seaman; a daughter, Camille Screven of the Town of Tonawanda, and a granddaughter.
