The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency agreed Thursday to begin processing a bond application to allow one firm to expand its business.

The agency also approved a machinery purchase loan for another firm.

Singer Transportation Inc. of Allen Ave. in Niagara Falls asked approval of a $600,000 bond that would be used for the purchase of new machinery and building expansion.

The IDA also approved a requested $200,000 from its revolving loan fund program to allow a $727,000 machinery acquisition by Voyager Emblems Inc., 3707 Lockport Road, Wheatfield.

John C. Drake, IDA assistant director, said the firm had secured an additional $527,000 from other state and private sources.

The firm, in business at that address for several years, now employs 123 workers. The new machinery, Drake said, would mean the creation of an additional 24 new jobs over the next two years.
