Twenty-five employees of Children's Hospital are being laid off this week as part of the hospital's continuing effort to balance its budget.
Rosemary Collins, a hospital spokeswoman, said Thursday night the employees are primarily in clerical and non-patient-care areas. In March, hospital officials announced a $1.7 million loss for 1989, laid off five employees and placed a moratorium on
Ms. Collins said Dr. Ted Stibbards, hospital president, says no further layoffs are anticipated. The 313-bed pediatric hospital on Bryant Street employs about 2,100 people.
