Local industry will help to educate future scientists at a Canisius College workshop for high school students from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the college's Horan-O'Donnell Science Building.
"Opportunities in Science" will feature workshops on employment possibilities, laboratory demonstrations and plant tours for students. Local industry and government participants will include Allied-Signal Corp., Chemical Waste Management, Central Police Services, E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co., the Food and Drug Administration and others.
Session leaders will include Canisius biology, chemistry and physics professors as well as industrial and government scientists and engineers. Student participants, who must be recommended by a high school science teacher, will be housed in campus residence halls Monday night.
