Services for Bertha T. Ellis, a lifelong Armor resident and a Sunday School teacher in Hamburg, will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Loomis, Offers & Loomis, 207 Main St., Hamburg. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Hamburg.
Mrs. Ellis, 94, died at home Wednesday (June 20, 1990).
A graduate of Hamburg High School, she graduated from Buffalo Normal School with training to be a kindergarten teacher.
Although she and her late husband, Walter, had no children, she filled her life with children.
She was a Sunday School teacher at the former Methodist Church in Armor and Windom Community Church.
An accomplished pianist, she donated her talent to the Orchard Park Grange, the Hamburg Methodist church and the Armor and Windom churches.
She also taught in several area schools.
After retiring from teaching, she worked as a secretary at Hillcrest Cemetery. She was a member of the cemetery board. Mrs. Ellis' parents, Adam and May Tucker worked at the cemetery, as did her husband, nephew and grand-nephew.
