Services for Thomas A. Marshall, 89, of East Avenue, retired administrative assistant to the general manager of the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors Corp., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church, 100 Genesee St. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
He died Monday (June 18, 1990) in Lockport Memorial Hospital.
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he moved to Niagara Falls, Ont., then lived in Buffalo before starting work for Harrison in 1927 in various accounting posts. He was named comptroller in 1959 and retired in 1966.
A former president of the Rotary Club, he also served as chairman of the Rotary Foundation Committee. He had served as a trustee of Lockport Public Library and on several committees and the board of Blue Cross.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, where he was a member of the Vestry, and also was a former campaign director and president of the Community Chest, now Eastern Niagara United Way. He had been a director of the Chamber of Commerce and the Tuscarora Club.
He was a member of the University Club of Buffalo and the Financial Executives Association and had been active in Masonic organizations.
He graduated from Queen's University in Kingston, Ont.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys W.; a son, Donald W. of Ballston Lake; a daughter, Eileen R. Hopper of Okemos, Mich.; a sister, Irene Marshall of Niagara Falls, Ont., and six grandchildren.
