A panel of nationally prominent sports writers and broadcasters is scheduled to speak tonight at the National Media Baseball Forum at the University at Buffalo's Katherine Cornell Theater.
Speakers at the 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. forum, to be broadcast live on WGR Radio, will include Peter Gammons of Sports Illustrated and ESPN, Hal Bodley of USA Today and CNN, Tracy Ringolsby of the Dallas Morning News and Baseball America and Paul Hagen of the Philadelphia Daily News and Baseball America. Also appearing are Neil MacCarl of the Toronto Star, Ben Walker of Associated Press, Mike Tully of United Press International, Joe Gergen of Newsday and The Sporting News, and Bob Dicesare of The Buffalo News.
WGR sports director Pete Weber will moderate the discussion on various topics including salaries, bargaining, and predictions.
Tickets, which had been available free through The News, are sold out. Doors open at 6 p.m. WGR's Greg Brown will host his SportsTalk show from the theater starting at 6:10 p.m.
The theater is in the Ellicott Complex on the north side of the campus. Use the main entrance (Flint Street) off Maple Road and follow signs to the Ellicott Complex. Parking is available in the Fargo Lot on Frontier Road off the John James Audubon Parkway.
