Robert Gioia was confirmed by the State Senate Tuesday as the new chairman of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.
The Senate approved Gov. Cuomo's nominee for a seven-year term. Gioia, 41, will replace Raymond Gallagher, who resigned Nov. 27 after investigations into political coercion of NFTA employees.
Under Gioia, the chairman's job will become a part-time position with an annual salary of $15,000. It was a full-time job with an annual salary of $72,000.
