A memorial service for Raymond J. Stribing, an employee of the Erie County Highway Department, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church, 55 Pleasant Ave., Lancaster. Burial will be in Lancaster Rural Cemetery.
Stribing, 62, died Monday (Jan. 29, 1990) in Hospice Buffalo.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster, he served with the Army in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart.
He worked for the county Highway Department for about 12 years.
Before that, Stribing worked with his late father, Ray, in a family trucking business, Stribing Trucking.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the church's Young Men's Association. Stribing also was an exempt member of the Eagle Hose Company of the Lancaster Fire Department.
Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey J., Michael C. and Stephen S., and his mother, Florence Gast.
