JULIAN WOJCIK

A Mass of Christian Burial for Julian Wojcik, 72, of Main Street, a retired production worker and a combat veteran of World War II, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 2437 Niagara St.

Prayers will be said at 9:15 in the Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will in the veterans section of Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.

Wojcik died Monday (Jan. 29, 1990) in Mount St. Mary's Nursing Home.

Born in Niagara Falls, he attended local grade schools and Trott Vocational High School. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937-38.

A former resident of 26th Street, he enlisted in the Army in February 1942, serving with the 149th Infantry. He served in combat with the 38th Division in the Pacific and earned several decorations.

Wojcik worked for National Carbon Co. for several years and for Olin Corp. as a production worker for 35 years before retiring in 1982.

He was a member of the Olin Sterling Club and Portage Post 1465, American Legion.
