HOLLAND SCHOOL BOARD OKS PURCHASE OF 3 BUSES

The Holland School Board Tuesday night agreed to purchase two 59-passenger buses for $44,283 each and one 29-passenger bus for $37,030 from Hanson International Trucks of Buffalo, subject to voter approval in June.

Buying the larger buses under state contract, rather than from a local dealer, would cost the school system $1,067 more. The smaller bus would cost $372 more.

Building Superintendent Daniel Berry told the board that replacing the bleachers in the middle school could total about $24,000. Repairing them would cost between $4,000 and $5,000.

Some of the bleachers are unsafe, he said.

If new ones are bought, Barry recommended that only five of the eight rows be replaced.

The next School Board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in high school library.
