George H. Benz, 69, of Buffalo died Monday (Jan. 29, 1990) in Millard Fillmore Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Oswego, Benz grew up in Buffalo, graduating in 1939 from Grover Cleveland High School.
He worked as a telegrapher for Railway Express Co. for a short time before taking a job with the Hotel Lenox and later with Park Lane Restaurant.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Benz served in France and Germany with the medical battalion of the 102nd Infantry Division.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Amigone Funeral Home, 1250 E. Delavan Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
