THE BUFFALO-PLACE ads that feature Elvis Presley, Queen Elizabeth and President Bush at sites downtown won't have to be be yanked the way a television commercial that used documentary-style footage of the Bush-Gorbechev summit to hawk cold medicine recently was taken off the air waves.

The staff of Buffalo Place Inc. and Great Ideas Advertising & Promotions Inc. rented the stock photos from a production house in New York City that owns the rights to the pictures, said David Mancuso, of Great Ideas.

All three of the photos were taken in public -- the king during a concert, the queen at a public appearance and the president making a speech. The only limitation is that the pictures be used for one newspaper press run, he said.
