Green Bay Packers All-Pro quarterback Don Majkowski says he will skip the Pro Bowl rather than risk injury that could cost him "millions of dollars" in potential earnings.

Majkowski, from Depew, was selected as a back-up to San Francisco's Joe Montana for the Feb. 4 game. But because the three-year veteran quarterback's contract expires Feb. 1, he would not be protected against possible injury, said agent Randy Vataha. Majkowski will be replaced by Philadelphia's Randall Cunningham.

Elsewhere, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips reportedly is being considered by the New York Jets for their coaching vacancy.

Phillips was told by a friend that New York general manager Dick Steinberg wanted to talk with him after today's Super Bowl.
