The 1990 Buffalo Bisons Caravan is set to begin rolling through Western New York, beginning Tuesday with a Hot Stove Luncheon downtown at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

The caravan, sponsored by Dodge, will continue through Feb. 3 and make stops in North Tonawanda, Kenmore, Lockport, Olean, Dunkirk/Fredonia, Niagara Falls and Jamestown. The final day of the caravan includes a free coaches clinic in the Buffalo Convention Center for youth, high school and college coaches.

Second baseman Kevin Burdick, outfielder Steve Carter, pitcher Morris Madden and Bison mascot Buster T. Bison will participate in the five-day event.

Burdick played 36 games for the Bisons last year after starting the season with Harrisburg. He hit .293 with Buffalo, with six doubles, three triples and 27 runs batted in.

Carter played 100 games for the Bisons last season, but was called up by the Bisons' parent club -- the Pittsburgh Pirates -- twice early in the season. He hit his first major league home run, a three-run shot off San Francisco's Don Robinson, on April 30. He batted .295 with the Bisons, with 24 doubles and 43 RBIs.

Madden, 12-8 with the Bisons, had a 2-2 record in nine appearance with the Pirates last season.
